About Me

I started my sixth year as a teacher-librarian II in America’s public schools in August, 2014, at Lodge Grass Public Schools in Lodge Grass, Montana. The Lodge Grass School District is a class B district in the Billings area of Montana and Sheridan area of Wyoming with 300 students. This is my first year with the Lodge Grass District. Previously, I finished my fifth year of service in May, 2013, at Valdez City Schools in Valdez, Alaska, and prior to that I served for three years at two other school districts in Montana.

I am passionate about English literature, both for adults and children, and I am a blogger, tweeter, and webmaster.  I also have a strong interest in making libraries the best they can be.  For recreation I like to downhill ski, hike, be outdoors, read (mostly novels), watch movies and a few television shows (the ’80’s sitcom “Family Ties is one of my favorites), and swim.  Visit The Pen and the Paintbrush on tumblr at  The two blogs complement one another.  On the tumblr one you’ll find shorter posts: fun literary tidbits, literary pictures, quotes, author information, musings about books and other literary-related information.
